Harold Davies captained the side in 1925-26 and Newport ended with their 2nd worst ever season to date. The forwards did not perform as expected and contained a number of old stalwarts - Jack Whitfield, Neil MacPherson (who had been playing since 1913) and Dr. W. Roche who struggled to retain their form. Wing George Andrews headed the try list with 24 followed by Albert Stock with 20 and also 2dg. Captain Harold Davies scored 13t, 4c, 1p and 2dg.
Vince Davies was the regular outside half and Eddie Dowdall scrum half with George Goldsworthy at centre. There was plenty of scoring potential and a better record would have resulted with tighter forward play and tighter defence.
