 30th November 1856, Stoney Stratford (England)

Son of Thomas Phillips and brother of Will, Fred and Owen. Captained Newport RFC at Glamorgan RFC, Cardiff 5th April 1875 (Draw 0 v 0) in Newport's first ever match - the only match played that season. Played 1874-75 to 1881-82. Solicitor. Mayor of Newport 1903.
