Born Portman Square, Oct 25th 1858 London. Lived for a time in Nantyglo with parents ? father William born Exeter, Devon. Captained Vale of Usk. Won 14 caps (2t vs Ireland 1882) for Wales 1882-1888 ? first two from Nantyglo. Captained Wales 3 times incl first ever win over Scotland at Rodney Parade Feb 4th 1888. Captained Newport 1884/5 and 1885/6. Played for Newport 1880/1 to 1887/8 and then left for new life in USA in May 1888
