Born Newport 16 Aug 1930. Newport HS. Proud moments were winning Welsh Cap when with Newport in 1950 vs England (1 of 5 Newport players in team that day W11-5) and then Blue at Oxford in 1951 beating Cambridge 13-0. Left to join London Welsh and eventually became captain. Had to wait until 1955 to win next cap vs England (W3-0). Retained place vs Scotland but lost 8-14 even though he scored both Wales? tries. 3 Wales caps 1950-1955. Played for Army during National Service, Crawshays. Father was director of Newport County for many years. Newport RFC record : 1948/9-1949/50 : 10 apps / 4t.
