"NOTES"
"We welcome Cardiff, and in particular their 'Lions,' here today. Without their international half-backs Cardiff have suffered two defeats by us this season, but with their assistance today (we hope!) to show that we intend to make it three in a row. A full house can be guaranteed at the Arms Park in two weeks' time if we record another victory this afternoon. When Barry John and Gareth Edwards turn out for Wales we cheer until we are as red in the face as the jerseys they wear, but at club level we have apoplexy and turn "blue and black" when the famous pair try to control the game. For the record, the games this season show a 7pts to 4pts win on this ground and a 6pts to nil win in Cardiff in our favour. Last season we held Cardiff to a draw away, then we won at home but we lost the two return games."
"The fuel crisis is playing havoc with floodlit matches and our game with Aberavon away in the W.R.U. Challenge Knock-out Cup is held up for the time being."
"Last Saturday we were handicapped by John Jeffery being off the field for practically the whole of the first half suffering from a cut head. We hope that he will be fit to lead his side today. Our selected team shows four changes from the side who lost at Leicester, John Anthony taking over from Gerald Fuller, Eric Phillips from Mike McKenzie, Laurie Gray for Jim Dale and Peter Williams for Geoff Evans."
"At international level we are hoping for another Triple Crown and Grand Slam performance. Wales can win the Triple Crown in Ireland on March 11th. Should Ireland win they will still have a chance for the twin titles, but must first overcome Scotland in Dublin next Saturday."
"Please make a note of this Year’s Annual Club Dinner and Dance which will be held on Friday, 17th March."
