From the match programme:-
"NOTES"
"Commencing tonight all evening floodlit games will kick-off at 7.30 p.m. instead of the previous 7.15 p.m. Whilst on the subject of lights the present fuel crisis could deteriorate due to Electricity Board cuts. Luckily we play in an off-peak period."
"The attractive Welsh Champions come here tonight to reverse the 17-15 defeat we inflicted on them when we visited the Brewery Field in our first game in 1972. Bridgend have struck a bad patch and their defeat at Swansea last Wednesday was the fourth successive game for them to lose. They have no intention of keeping it this way. John Lloyd has skippered the side for quite a few years and now he is using his talent for leadership with the Welsh XV. Last season we fought a drawn game 8-8 on this ground, but we lost heavily away at the end of the season by 24pts to nil."
"Keith James, since eclipsing David Watkins' record of drop goals has now moved on to a total of 17, and Laurie Daniel, who passed his 200pts for the season in the Brynmawr game, now has a total of 207pts in 21 appearances. John Jeffery was called up for the Welsh Squad last week but at the time of going to print we know not if his services were required against Scotland."
"We have to journey to Aberavon to play the next round in the W.R.U. Challenge Knock-out Cup. We have until March 18th to play this cup game. Actually we are home to Aberavon on March 18th so maybe this date could be used with the venue reversed. We have no mid-week games in February but have four lined up for March."
"Next Saturday we are away to Leicester and the kick-off is before lunch-time because the England v. Ireland game is being televised from Twickenham."
