"NOTES"
"Our last game was on January 25th when we achieved the double over Llanelli. That day we topped the 500 points for the season and Keith Jarrett passed the 200 points for his personal tally. Everything was set for further records to be smashed when the frost and snow decided otherwise. February was a blank month, the longest inactive spell for many years with five games postponed or cancelled, Bridgend (home), Leicester (away), Cardiff (away), Ebbw Vale (home) and Blackheath (away)."
"During this period we were proud to supply Brian Price (captain), Keith Jarrett and Stuart Watkins to the Welsh team that was successful at Murrayfield. We congratulate them on their selection for next Saturday's game against Ireland. This is a very important encounter, with the Irish one step from the Triple Crown."
"This afternoon's game is full of interest because we are keen to register our third victory of the season over our near neighbours. Cardiff field a strong XV, the only notable absentee is Gerald Davies who is still up at Cambridge University. Barry John and our Bob Phillips will be confronting each other for the first time."
"We won 11 points to 6 points in Cardiff last October and in November won here 9 points to 6 points. Today should have been our last game but the postponement a few weeks ago at Arms Park means that the re-arranged game for Wednesday, April 16th will provide a spectacular finale, assuming that we win today. This game will be played the week following the Wales v. England game and immediately after our return from the West Country Tour."
"We have had two strenuous training stints this week to offset our lack of match practice last month."
"The dangling carrot of the Wales tour to New Zealand and Fiji plus the Barbarians tour to South Africa in May must be an added incentive for all players with a chance."
